Ukraine Conflict - Current Situation

It is believed that between 3,000-4,000 members of Azov neo-Nazi Battalion are hiding inside the Azovstal Steel plant in Mariupol, Ukraine.

They are surrounded on all sides by Russian forces.

Apparently, the steel plant is so big, it is a city within a city.

This video shows the current situation at Azovstal.

Ship Attempted to Break Through Russian Naval Blockade of Mariupol to Rescue Azov Commanders

"Russian forces and Donetsk People's Militia units encircled the Azov Sea coast city of Mariupol in early March, trapping thousands of Ukrainian troops, neo-Nazi Azov Regiment fighters and foreign mercenaries in the strategic port hub.

In recent days, Ukrainian forces have made several attempts to evacuate commanders from the city's ruins.

The Apache, a dry cargo ship sailing under the Maltese flag, abruptly changed course while en route through the Azov Sea and attempted to break through the naval blockade of Mariupol enforced by ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and border patrol...

In order to block the further movement of the intruding vessel, a ship of the Black Sea Fleet and Russian border patrol boats opened fire on the Apache. A blaze broke out aboard the vessel after a direct hit to the stern. The ship began to drift, and its crew initiated communications with Russian vessels asking them to hold fire and promising to carry out their orders.

The Apache's crew was not injured, and managed to extinguish the fire independently. After inspection, the ship was escorted to the port of Yeysk in Russia's Krasnodar region."

Between 3,000-4,000 members of Azov neo-Nazi Battalion are TRAPPED at the Azovstal Steel plant in Mariupol, Ukraine.

They are completely surrounded by Russian forces. Russia is also in control of the air & sea...

So, why are they not surrendering?

It is because among them are suspected to be dozens, or even hundreds of Special Forces soldiers from several Western countries.

It would be total PR disaster for their armed forces, if they are captured by Russian forces, and paraded on TV worldwide.

That is why Ukraine govt is so desperate to rescue them, something that is almost insurmountable.

NOTE: More than 3 Ukrainian military helicopters have been SHOT down in recent days by Russian forces in Mariupol, attempting to rescue the trapped Azov Battalion members.

They have even tried to sneak in a ship at night (above post)...They are that desperate to rescue the trapped fighters.

This means that fighters trapped in Azovstal Steel plant are not Ukrainian soldiers. A normal soldier would just surrender...

Russia is treating captured Ukrainian prisoners of war (PoWs) well, as per Geneva Convention.

Russia & Ukraine also exchange captured PoWs regularly.

NB: Map below was published by BBC on 20th March, 2022. It shows that Russian forces had already surrounded Mariupol city 3 weeks ago.

Russia has captured a lot of Ukrainian Prisoners of War (PoWs), including more than 1,000 in Mariupol alone, in one day this week.

They are being treated well, according to Geneva Convention.

However, some are also shown videos of Russian PoWs being tortured and killed by Ukrainian forces & their allies including Azov neo-NAZIs.

This video shows reaction of 2 Ukrainian PoWs while watching how Russian PoWs are treated by their side.

NB: The original video is longer than 2 minutes, but since its not in English, no need to show it all.

Retirees mobilised by Ukraine to fight in the frontlines. Captured by Chechen forces.

Message by Chechen commander: "Look at these poor people. Officials in Kyiv, I ask you, are these your fighters? Aren't you ashamed to send these old-aged people to war with trained special forces?

Why should we be ashamed of you to capture these fighters who are unable to properly hold weapons in their hands?

We treat prisoners like human beings, we do not mock, we do not starve.

And this says a lot, at least that Ukraine needs denazification."

The Guardian media has confirmed that the mercenary above is a British national called Shaun Pinner.

He says: “Hi, I’m Shaun Pinner, I am a citizen of the UK. I was captured in Mariupol. I am part of the 36 Brigade First Battalion Ukrainian Marines.

“I was fighting in Mariupol for five to six weeks and now I’m in Donetsk People’s Republic.”

Pinner, originally from Bedfordshire, is believed to have moved to Ukraine four years ago and lived with his wife in Donbas. The former Royal Anglian Regiment soldier said in January that he was based in trenches 10 miles outside Mariupol.

He told the Mail on Sunday in January: “I am here defending my family and adopted city. Russia started this war. It’s funded by Russia and driven by Russia, but we will fight them, make no mistake about that.”

Pinner also spoke of his fear of capture: “I fear for my life. The Russians will treat us differently if we are captured because we are British. This is always on my mind, that I will be captured.”

He is keen on publicising possibility of being exchanged with Ukrainian MP and leader of largest opposition party in the country, Viktor Medvedchuk, who is in custody of Ukrainian government.
